Job Overview

We are looking to hire an experience accountant here at Realise, working under the director to complete a range of typical accountancy practice tasks.

We aren't your usual accountancy practice, with an energetic and lively small team who really love getting involved. We offer an engaging and fun environment to work in, one that we hope doesn't feel like "work".

You will also have the chance to work with a diverse range of clients from different industries, enhancing your versatility and understanding of varied market needs.

We are looking for someone who has ideally worked in a practice before, and is potentially looking to get back into work or is just looking for a change.

Note:

Due to the internship funding requirements you have to be aged 22+ at the start date to be eligible for this role.

Length of Internship:

6 weeks

Working Hours:

35 hours per week (flexible, can be less to suit the right individual, or up to a max of 38 hours) -

we would be open to anything from 12 hours per week minimum!

Work Location:

At our Peterborough office, with plenty of parking available

Salary:

29,120 per annum (pro-rata to 6 weeks, 3,360)

Start Date:

1 November 2025 (we can be flexible here)

Duties

Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, reports, and records. Prepare accounts up to TB stage (and beyond if you wish). A mix of software and manual jobs! Utilise accounting software such as Xero & FreeAgent (and also QuickBooks / Sage on occassion, however we are primarily a Xero practice). Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.

Skills

Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices. Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail. Effective communication skills for liaising with team members and stakeholders. Practice accountancy experience
