About Us:
We are a small, vibrant accounting practice dedicated to providing personalised services to our clients, primarily small businesses and individuals. As our client base continues to grow, we are seeking a part-time senior accountant to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to manage your own portfolio of clients, oversee junior staff, and contribute to the growth and innovation of our practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Management: Oversee a portfolio of clients, producing statutory (FRS 102(1A) and FRS105) and non-statutory accounts, preparing corporate tax, partnership, and self-assessment tax returns for various entities.
- Communication: Maintain effective and proactive communication with clients, addressing accountancy and tax-related queries.
- Team Coordination: Organise and review VAT returns and correspondence produced by junior staff, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Deadline Monitoring: Track and manage all relevant deadlines for your portfolio, ensuring compliance and timely submissions.
- Practice Support: Assist the practice director with various tasks, including the development and automation of internal systems.
- Client Engagement: Engage with prospective clients, provide fee quotes, and assist with the onboarding and AML process.
- Project Management: Lead major new accounting and tax projects, ensuring successful implementation and client satisfaction.
- Technical Research: Stay informed on important legislative changes and ensure clients are aware of how these changes may affect them.
Qualifications:
- AAT/ACCA/ACA qualified (qualified by experience will be considered)
- Minimum of 5 years practice experience
- Strong knowledge of FRS 102 and FRS 105
- Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Logical, analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
- Proficiency in accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent) and good working knowledge of Excel and Word
- Experience with IRIS and Payroll Manager is desirable
