We are looking for a Practice Manager for a high volume Orthopaedic Surgeons within our Integrated Surgical Institute. It is a busy practice and the Practice Manager will be responsible for the coordination of patient appointments and activity relating to the patient visits and surgical procedures, such as liaising with patients, scheduling appointments, investigations and dealing with all related correspondence.
The role will also require effective and sensitive communication with patients to provide a world class service and patient experience. In addition, we are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, able to engage with other clinicians, general practitioners and patients in order to build strong relationships to support the practice.

What will your duties include?To act as point of contact for patients, consultants and referrers into the practice. To facilitate and organise all patient documentation records such as patient care records, medical notes, correspondence and letters between consultants, clinicians and patients. Resolve patient issues to ensure consistency in quality, procedure and policy application. Serve as an administrative point of contact and act as a liaison between the patient and consultant. Support the consultant and patient with queries relating to the patient treatment pathway. Work collaboratively with the wider teams and provide guidance to the patient as appropriate to facilitate a seamless patient journey. Correspond with patients professionally and efficiently via telephone, e-mail and letter. Correspond with General Practitioners, Consultants, Clinicians and other Caregivers where required. Compose and prepare a variety of correspondence (e.g., medical reports, forms, presentation materials, messages, etc.) To provide and receive complex information on a daily basis. To exercise initiative and judgment based on acquired knowledge and experience when dealing with enquiries of a clinical and non-clinical nature. Communicate effectively with other relevant hospital departments, professionals, health insurance companies, Global Patient Services, etc. to facilitate the patient journey. Provide advice and support to self-funding patients, patients and insurers in relation to Private Medical Insurance in respect of costs. Organise patient appointments, investigations and hospital admissions as and when required. Manage and prioritise multiple assignments simultaneously and effectively. Manage and edit consultant schedules, consultant diaries, arrange and schedules meetings, coordinate patient appointments, and respond to queries from patients, staff, and others. Support patient navigation by ensuring patient information required on the day of clinic is available and on hand and relevant clinical information or results are entered onto the in-house electronic medical records system (EPIC). Work with Global patient Services to ensure that overseas patients have arranged the appropriate tests and investigations prior to attendance to facilitate efficient use of time. Organise and schedule emergencies that may arise and arrange emergency admissions and emergency transfers where required. Use in-house electronic medical records system (EPIC) to store and retrieve clinical information and appointments; navigate the hospital database system to effectively and accurately obtain and review patient information, create new appointments, order tests and investigations etc. Request and record consultant availability/leave via relevant systematic processes i.e. QGenda or other systems as required Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to data protection principles at all times. Work collaboratively within a team. Coordinate and lead on quality and service audits in order to further improve the service. Assist and undertake other duties as required by the Divisional Institute Manager. Other duties as assigned
