Overview:



We are seeking a proactive, organised, and experienced

Practice Manager

to oversee the day-to-day operations of our law firm. The Practice Manager will play a key role in managing HR, finance, compliance, facilities, and general administration to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the practice.

Key Responsibilities:1. HR & People Management



Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and induction of new staff Manage HR policies, procedures, and staff records Support staff welfare, conduct, performance reviews, and disciplinary processes Coordinate training and continuing professional development (CPD) Ensure compliance with employment law and diversity requirements

2. Financial & Accounts Management



Liaise with external accountants and ensure accurate bookkeeping Monitor budgets, cash flow, and financial performance Oversee client billing, credit control, and financial reporting Manage payroll processes in collaboration with finance team/providers

3. Regulatory Compliance



Ensure firm-wide compliance with

SRA regulations

GDPR

,

AML

,

Health & Safety

, and other legal obligations Maintain internal records and compliance registers Conduct risk assessments and support file audits Act as first point of contact for external auditors or inspections

4. Operations & Administration



Manage the smooth daily operation of the firm Streamline internal processes and introduce best practices Manage case management systems (e.g., LEAP), office equipment, and IT coordination Oversee document handling, archiving, and confidentiality protocols

5. Facilities Management



Ensure maintenance of premises and working environment Coordinate with external vendors and service providers Manage office supplies, contracts, and health & safety procedures

Skills & Experience:



Previous experience in a law firm or professional services environment (essential) Strong understanding of HR, finance, compliance, and practice management Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure IT proficiency including MS Office and legal practice management systems
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 25,754.37-61,111.54 per year
