Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and organised individual to oversee the daily operations of our General Practice. Verulam Medical Group consists of 3 GP practices: Colney Medical Centre is the main site in London Colney with branch surgeries at Bricketwood Medical Centre and Coleridge House Medical Centre in Hemel Hempstead.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the practices, maintaining high standards of patient care, and leading a team of healthcare professionals. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual with strong management skills to contribute to a thriving practice environment.

Duties:

1.Ensure the practice is compliant with all NHS, Information governance, CQC, Health & Safety and all statutory requirements

2. Ensure staff are trained to provide cover for all the administrative functions and can manage patient queries so we have a multi-skilled flexible team.

3. Communicate with all staff and keep them up to date. Motivating and managing staff on a day to day basis, including HR functions. Organise staff rotas/holiday requests to ensure adequate cover at all times.

4. Be responsible for communications with patients including any complaints handling, website, and online patient access

5. Be aware of practice finances and ensure the practice maximises quality achievement indicators

6. Review and maintain up to date practice policies and practice administration

7. Work closely and flexibly with the Partners to provide support as and when required with new projects and developments.

Person Specification:

Candidates must have good IT and communication skills

Must have previous primary care experience and be familiar with EMISweb

Leadership experience is desirable.

Driving/car essential

Hours/ Salary negotiable depending on experience.

Job Type: Part-time

Expected hours: 25 - 30 per week
