Main Purpose:
To provide nursing treatment and advice to patients attending the treatment room. Working within
agreed clinical and administrative protocols

Clinically responsible to the partners of the practice
.
Line responsibility to the Practice Manager
KEY OBJECTIVES
Treatment Room
Undertaking various injections and recording on clinical system
Taking/recording patient blood pressure measurements.
Testing urine samples - recording on the clinical system.
Chaperoning patients for other clinical staff members.
Nebulising patients as directed by medical staff.
Carrying out ECG recordings as indicated by medical staff
Removing sutures.
Undertaking dressings and/or supporting HCAs when undertaking complex leg dressings.
Childhood Immunisations
Undertake clinics for childhood immunisations, administering immunisations in accordance with national guidelines and immunisation schedules.
Produces immunisation schedule for children who have missed immunisations in standard schedule.
Cervical Screening
After completion of training, undertake cytology screening in accordance with national recall system.
Other Duties
Participates from time to time in telephone consultations with patients in respect of various data and health promotion and advice.
Administration and Liaison
Ensures accurate entries in computer are made for all patient contacts, either face to face consultations or telephone consultations.
Ensures all communication media are checked during every duty period to facilitate good timely awareness and communication throughout the practice.
Participates in regular Nursing Team Meetings
Participates in monthly Primary Health Care Team Meetings
Maintains effective liaison with all other disciplines in the practice with relevant regard to confidentiality.
All of the above tasks undertaken in accordance with practice protocols, sensitive to patient needs/requirements. Record keeping is of paramount importance all tasks must be recorded correctly in patient electronic notes.
All services to patients are provided by appointment.

Professional development/special requirements of the post
.
Must be RGN with at least one-year post and registration experience.
Must work in accordance with UKCC Code of Conduct.
Must have excellent communication skills.
Must be a member of a professional body e.g. RCN - MDU etc.
Any other duties as agreed within the practice manager and nursing team from time to time.

Salary Range:
13.13 - 16.13 per hour, dependent on skills and experience.
