We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Practice Nurse to join our healthcare team. The Practice Nurse will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care, assisting with clinical procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of our practice. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about patient health and well-being, and who possess a strong knowledge of anatomy.
East Leicester Medical practiceis excited to be recruiting to this key role into our friendly team. We are keen to identify a new Experienced Nurse to join our dedicated teams of Practice Nurses and Health Care Assistants.
We serve 13k patients employing around 45 staff, including 2 Practice Nurses, 3 Health Care Assistances and 1 Phlebotomist.
We are looking for a practice nurse to join our team who is able to work autonomously within their scope of practice and collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.
Applicants should have excellent communicational, clinical
and organisational skills.
Duties
Management of long-term conditions such as diabetes, asthma, and hypertension,
Administer medications in line with Patient Group Directions (PGDs), ensuring safe and legal compliance with prescribing protocols and patient eligibility criteria.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in line with GDPR and practice policies.
Input patient information, test results, and other relevant data into the electronic health record system (SystmOne).
Complete own referrals and audits where possible.
support administrative tasks required for claims processing when necessary.
Maintain clean and safe clinical areas in accordance with infection control standards.
Ensure safe disposal of clinical waste and correct procedures for the use and disposal of sharps.
Provide information on vaccination benefits and encourage uptake within eligible patient groups.
Create and assess individual treatment plans for chronic disease patients, aimed at enhancing overall health and reducing long-term complications.
Attend team meetings, practice meetings, training sessions, and clinical updates to stay informed on best practices.
Keep updated with clinical and infection control advancements.
ensuring regular monitoring and patient education of long-term conditions and lifestyle advice
Support and manage the health needs of women presenting for family planning, and cervical cytology consultations.
Administer immunisations and vaccinations for adults and children supporting national campaigns (flu, shingles, childhood imms)
provide support, advice and where appropriate vaccinations for patients travelling abroad.

Requirements
Registered Nurse with a valid NMC registration.
Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology is essential.
Proven experience in patient care within a clinical setting is preferred.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with patients.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team while also being self-motivated.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work.
Commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety within the practice environment.
