To take full responsibility for full contact / care & appropriate learning opportunities, of designated children in nursery.
Job Duties:
1. Provide full care of children, i.e. ensuring their physical needs (food & personal hygiene) and rights are met and that they are safely delivered to parents and carers and or named individuals.
2. Provide safe, creative, appropriate play opportunities; preparing activities through an organised programme, within a safe, caring and stimulating environment.
3. Be aware of / undertake the promotion of safeguarding the welfare of children.
4. Provide healthy nutritional snacks and meals.
5. Day to day administration, record keeping.
6. Undertake role of Key-person, undertaking observation, assessment and planning for children.
7.Liaise with and encourage parental involvement and support of the nursery. Deal appropriately with any concerns that parents/ carers may have.
8. Liaise, where required, with multi professionals, Ofsted, Cheshire East Council.
9. Attend meetings / undertake training as appropriate/ required.
10. Administer First Aid, as required/ appropriate.
11. Work within Apples & Pears Policies & Procedures.
12. Be coherent with EYFS requirements and work with Management to ensure fully adhered to.
13. Carry out all responsibilities and activities within an equal opportunities framework.
Cleaning duties (per schedule)
14. Work with Management to try and achieve all relevant quality assurances .
15. Any other duties as may be reasonably expected of the post holder.
Person Specification:
Essential for the post
? A full and relevant NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (meeting CWDC mandatory requirements).
? Experience of working with children 0-5 years.
? A sound understanding of good quality childcare and willingness to continuously improve standards.
? A commitment to Equal Opportunities.
? Ability to facilitate safe, creative play.
? Ability to communicate at all levels.
? Ability to meet children's individual needs.
? Ability to use judgement and common sense.
? Ability to work as a team.
Desirable for the post:
? A current First Aid Certificate
? A Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
? Willingness to undertake necessary / relevant training
