Role Profile: Prepack Line Machine Setter

Department: Production

Reports to: Senior Machine Setter and Site Manager

Role Type: Full-Time, Shift-Based

Purpose of the Role

The Prepack Line Machine Setter is responsible for the efficient setup, safe operation, and basic maintenance of the prepack bagging line. The role plays a key part in ensuring production targets, product quality, and housekeeping standards are achieved in line with company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

1. 1. Machine Setup and Operation

Complete all pre-start checks before operating the machine, ensuring readiness for production. Report any defects or maintenance concerns promptly via the Pre-Start Check App. Set up the machine to the correct parameters to ensure consistent product flow and bagging accuracy. Monitor line performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain optimal efficiency.
2. 2. Quality Assurance

Conduct quality checks in line with the company's QA policy, ensuring all products meet specification. Record quality check results accurately and report any deviations to the Senior Machine Setter or Site Manager. Support continuous improvement by identifying recurring quality issues or process inefficiencies.
3. 3. Operator-Led Maintenance

Carry out in-running operator-led maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor adjustments. Ensure that maintenance standards are met and downtime is minimised through proactive intervention.
4. 4. Production and Reporting

Achieve production targets by ensuring machine efficiency and minimal waste. Report hourly production numbers and escalate any performance issues that may impact targets. Ensure that all production, quality, and safety documentation is completed accurately and on time.
5. 5. Housekeeping and Site Standards

Maintain a clean and organised work area, in line with site housekeeping standards. Actively contribute to housekeeping standards in and around the production area. Comply with all site health, safety, and environmental policies.

Skills and Experience

Essential: But training can be given

Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of machine setup and basic fault-finding. Good attention to detail and commitment to quality standards. Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Desirable:

Experience within the aggregates or packaging industry. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing / 5S principles. FLT licence.
Performance Measures

Completion of pre-start and operator maintenance checks. Compliance with quality and safety reporting requirements. Achievement of daily production targets. Standard of housekeeping. Communication and collaboration within the production team.

Pay: 27,000.00-35,000.00 per year
