MM Group are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and reliable Pre-Press Operator within our Pre-Press department based at our site in Bradford (m/f/d). The successful candidate will be responsible for the for the design and creative manufacturing of packaging for the Health, Beauty and Pharmaceutical market. As an integral part of the technical design team, you would be expected to work across all the departments within Pre-Press including - Design Studio - Structural design using ESKO Artios CAD/CAM and rendering software. PMR - Service to Press - Tooling storage and management. Reprographic Studio - Graphic Design and Reprographic using Adobe creative suite and ESKO and CTP - Service to Press - Manufacturing of printing/varnish plates.

Successful candidates should be educated to a good standard with previous experience of working within manufacturing, preferably within the Pharma Industry or within Technical Services. Knowledge of graphic design, MAC & CAD applications and reprographic design as well as previous skills and knowledge of working within a fast paced and ever-changing production and manufacturing environment is essential for this role. Candidates must have sound knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety alongside the ability to adhere to company policy and procedures. The ability to work collaboratively within a team and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills is essential to this role, as well as the ability to communicate effectively at all levels. Individuals must be able to prioritise their workload and work effectively when under pressure, as working to tight deadlines is part of this role. Applicants should have a flexible approach to working, be both externally and internally customer focussed and be both reliable and methodical. A sound knowledge of IT packages is essential for this role as well as administration skills, attention to detail and excellent numeracy skills. GMP knowledge, IOSH certification, and Lean Six Sigma knowledge and accreditation would also be desirable.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure efficient service to production departments and customers. Adherence to specifications, guidelines and customer requirements. Identify improvement opportunities and actively support company improvement initiatives including Internal Audits, Calibration, Gemba walks, 5S events, etc. Interpret design briefs to develop and produce innovative packaging designs for manufacture. Produce prototypes to the expected Company and customer standards and expectations. Create nested layouts and 3D visualisations. Provide original and modifying existing CAD drawings using Artois CAD. Primarily work in carton board. Produce artwork for a wide variety of clients in the healthcare/retail/cosmetic industries using MAC technology. Checking artwork on a technical level, including colour separation and retouching. Outputting files for lithographic print production. Review project brief components, confirm acceptance of briefs and escalate issues. Creation and management of printing plates for all print machines. Creation and management of coater blankets for all print machines. Ordering and management of cyrel coating plates. Colour separation and technical print processes. Use of Artpro, Adobe CS; Illustrator, Indesign, Photoshop on a regular basis. Ensure efficient service to production departments and customers.
