Job roles and responsibilities



Level 3 Early Years qualification Supervising children within their play time Engaging children in learning and play activities, and developing their knowledge, where necessary. Interact with the children positively Following planning and the daily routine Thinking of new ideas and activities. Using your initiative. Keeping and updating records Working with team members Maintaining a high standard of operation Attending staff meetings Keeping the environment tidy, setting up the pre-school at the beginning and end of the day Keeping children safe, a good knowledge of safeguarding and how to promote the welfare of children Carrying out any other tasks, the manager asks you to undertake. Being able to follow and have a good knowledge of the settings policies and procedures. Attend regular training to ensure you have the most up to date knowledge Promote positive Management of Behaviour in the Nursery environment, establish routines and boundaries to ensure the safety and good behaviour of the children. To be a positive role model to all staff and always conduct yourselves in an appropriate professional manner. Hold a valid DBS and be willing or hold a Paediatric first aid certificate, Safeguarding and food hygiene.

Key Person Role and Responsibilities



Settling in children alongside parents and carers Ensuring that care and learning opportunities always meet children's needs. Forming attachments Liaising with parents and carers Collecting evidence to show children's progress in all areas. Observing their key children and uploading them to our online learning journal, Tapestry. Meeting with parents/carers to discuss progress/concerns termly. Planning activities for your key children for key group time and implementing this. Creating next steps for your key children and supporting them to achieve this. Carrying out home visits alongside the manager/deputy manager before children start the setting, to meet the child and get to know them, and to also find the child's starting points by completing an all about me form. Good knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.47 per hour

Expected hours: 18.75 per week
