The Northern Lights Preschool is a warm, friendly, and child-centred early years setting committed to providing outstanding care and education for children aged 0-5. We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Deputy Manager to support the Manager in leading our dedicated team.
Role Responsibilities
As the Deputy Manager, you will:
Support the preschool Manager in the day-to-day running of the setting
Lead and mentor staff to ensure high-quality practice across all rooms
Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health & safety, and all statutory requirements
Support curriculum planning and the delivery of engaging EYFS-aligned activities
Maintain accurate records, children's learning journals, and assessments
Build positive relationships with children, families, and the wider team
Take responsibility for the setting in the absence of the preschool Manager
Assist with administrative duties, staff rotas, and occupancy management
Person Specification
We are looking for someone who:
Holds a Level 3-6 Early Years Qualification (or equivalent)
Has previous experience in a senior or supervisory role within an early years setting
Has secure knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding, and Ofsted regulations
Demonstrates strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
Is passionate, reliable, and committed to delivering exceptional childcare
Can work effectively as part of a team and independently when required
