Preschool Lunchtime assistant

We are looking for a caring, motivated and dedicated, Preschool Lunchtime assistant to join our team. You will play a key role in ensuring a safe, enjoyable, and smooth lunchtime experience for the children in our Preschool. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young children and wants to contribute to their well-being and development.

The position is temporary, fixed term until 18th July 2025. The hours of work are 11am - 12.45pm, Monday to Friday. Term time only. The hourly rate is 12.21, plus a holiday allowance enhancement.

Our preschool is located in the heart of North Bretton with access to our local surroundings and amenities, with a bus route very close to the setting. Our preschool is purpose built and has an extensive outdoor space . We are very lucky to have a large setting with three spacious rooms with natural, high quality and stimulating resources with a capacity for 60 children. Each room has access to their own well equipped individual gardens to encourage lots of physical play and exploration.

We employ both full and part-time staff; our opening times are 8.30 - 3.00pm, 38 weeks a year and we are closed for public bank holidays.

Key Responsibilities:



Supervise and assist children during lunchtime, ensuring a positive mealtime experience. Encourage good table manners and promote healthy eating habits. Support children with feeding where necessary. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the lunch and play areas. Engage children in quiet activities after lunch, such as storytelling or calm play. Follow health and safety policies, including allergy awareness and first aid procedures. Work collaboratively with preschool staff to ensure a nurturing and supportive environment.

Requirements:



A passion for working with young children. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, kindness, and a caring attitude. Ability to work as part of a team. Knowledge of basic food hygiene and safeguarding (training can be provided). Previous experience in a childcare or school setting (desirable but not essential).
