Job Summary

The Preschool Senior plays a pivotal role in nurturing and guiding young children in a safe and stimulating environment. This position requires strong management and leadership skills to oversee daily operations, support staff, and ensure that all children receive high-quality care and education. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, particularly in a nursery or early childhood education setting, and possess excellent communication skills to engage effectively with both children and parents.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the preschool team, ensuring a collaborative and positive work environment. Develop and implement age-appropriate educational programmes that promote the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development of children. Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and nursery standards. Foster strong relationships with parents through regular communication about their child's progress and well-being. Supervise daily activities, providing guidance to staff on best practices in childcare. Conduct assessments of children's development and maintain accurate records of their progress. Organise engaging activities that stimulate learning through play while ensuring a safe environment for exploration. Drive initiatives to enhance the nursery's reputation within the community.

Qualifications

Proven management experience in a childcare or educational setting. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team. Experience working with children in a nursery or early childhood education context is essential holding a level 3 qualification to support this. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with children, parents, and staff.
