We're looking for a reliable Press Brake Operator to run press brakes and produce accurate sheet-metal parts. This is a hands-on production role focused on safe, consistent operation, quality and daily engineering tasks to keep production moving.
What you'll do (daily)
Read and follow engineering drawings and bend schedules.
Operate manual or CNC press brakes to bend, form and produce sheet-metal parts to specification.
Enter or confirm machine settings, perform test bends and adjust within operational limits to hit tolerances.
Measure parts (calipers, protractors, gauges) and carry out in-process and final quality checks; record results.
Perform finishing tasks such as deburring, grinding, light filing and removing swarf to meet quality standards.
Load and unload sheet material safely; handle, stack and label parts correctly.
Carry out routine machine checks and basic preventative maintenance; promptly report mechanical faults.
Keep workstation, tooling and surrounding area clean and organised; follow PPE and all health & safety procedures.
Collaborate with colleagues in fabrication and assembly to meet daily production targets and resolve minor production issues.
Skills & experience
Proven experience operating press brakes in a production environment.
Ability to read technical drawings and follow bend schedules.
Competent with measuring tools and checking parts to tolerance.
Practical finishing skills (deburring/grinding) and good attention to detail.
Strong mechanical aptitude and basic problem-solving.
Reliable, punctual and able to work under production timelines.
Physically able to handle sheet material and stand for extended periods.
