Hours: 38hpw, rotating weekly shifts ( Additional Weekly Shift Allowance)



Week 1: Monday- Thursday 06:00-14:30 and Friday 06:00-12:00. Week 2: Monday-Thursday 14:30- 23:00 and Friday 12:00-18:00.



The quality of our components is one of the key features of all our products. We manufacture most of our parts in house with all processes starting in the press and machine shop.

This position reports to the Manufacturing Manager via the Press and Machine shop team leaders. Press operators are responsible for the day to day running of 1 machine including both programming, setting and operating.

Job description



Operating 1 Bystronic press in a fast-paced environment. Operates in a safe manner and reports hazards associated with the equipment or its operations to the Press and machine shop team leader/Manager. Maintains and produces a high level of output and quality of work that will minimise production delays. Performing first off checks, last off checks and ensuring consistent quality from start to finish using a 1 in 5 check or 1 in 10 check depending on batch quantity. Reading of technical engineer drawings. Using gauges & jigs where necessary to check your work. Cleans and maintains an orderly work area. Communicates effectively with other workers in the process workflow.

Key Skills and Requirements:



Knowledge of Bystronic or Amada presses. Knowledge of light guard systems, bend radius and fault-finding diagnosis. Ability to carry out basic maintenance on the machines. Ability to operate hand-held tools, sanders and linishers. Experience in using overhead cranes. Ability to adjust programmes on the fly. Ability to rectify parts that have folded incorrectly.

Experience and Qualifications



It is essential that you have experience of running press brakes. Apprenticeship trained in a relevant field or relevant experience. Good communication skills. An understanding of SOPs and TPM check sheets. Good time management. Experience of working in a production led environment. Someone who is reliable and will work as part of a team.
