Job Description

Job Summary:

The Press Brake Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining Amada press brake machines to bend, form, and fabricate sheet metal components according to engineering drawings and production specifications. The role requires precision, technical understanding of CNC machinery, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up and operate

Amada press brakes

according to job order specifications. Interpret and work from

engineering drawings, and work orders

. Program or adjust

CNC controllers

and select appropriate tooling (dies, punches, back gauges, etc.). Verify dimensions of finished parts using

calipers, micrometers, and gauges

to ensure accuracy. Perform routine machine

maintenance and cleaning

to ensure optimal performance. Identify and report any

machine malfunctions, material defects, or quality issues

. Maintain

production records

, including quantities, dimensions, and time tracking. Ensure

safe operation

of press brakes and compliance with all company safety standards. Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to improve production efficiency and minimize waste.

Attributes:

2+ years of experience

operating press brakes, ideally Amada. Ability to

read and interpret mechanical drawings

. Strong understanding of

sheet metal fabrication

processes and tolerances. Proficiency with

measuring tools

and quality inspection procedures. Basic computer and CNC programming skills (Amada controller experience preferred). Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.

Preferred Skills:

Knowledge of

different materials

(steel, aluminum, stainless) and bend allowances. Familiarity with

lean manufacturing

or

5S

workplace principles. Ability to train or mentor junior operators.
Joining bonus 400 after completing probation. Overtime is available
