Job Description

Job summary

Interviews are planned for the week commencing 8th September 2025.

Our HCAs undertake responsibility for routine clinical and non-clinical duties as delegated by a registered practitioner, including defined clinical or therapeutic interventions within the limits of their competence. Their work is guided by standard operating procedures, protocols or systems of work but they are expected to exercise autonomy within their delegated area of responsibility, to make non-complex decisions and report these back to assist in patient care evaluation and in broader service development and quality assurance activities. They will be expected to answer or escalate patient queries and be flexible in supporting patients and the wider team. The candidate will be expected to demonstrate key behaviours consistent with the values identified for delivering compassionate care.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work under indirect supervision of the practice nurse team (or in partnership with practice clinicians and GPs) to deliver routine clinical and non-clinical duties including patient treatment and care. Treatment and care interventions undertaken by the post holder will be delegated by a registered practitioner and provided with the informed consent of the patient following policy, procedures and agreed protocols. In addition to treatment and care interventions our HCAs are also expected to exercise some autonomy and make non-complex decisions so as to assist in patient care evaluation and in broader service development and quality assurance activities e.g. audit. They may also provide supervision to more junior members of staff where appropriate. The HCA will be accountable to all partners, practice managers and nursing team lead.
