Duties

Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with the school curriculum and address the diverse needs of all learners. Educate Year 6 students across a range of subjects, ensuring they gain strong foundational knowledge and skills. Maintain exemplary classroom behaviour using positive reinforcement strategies within a respectful and well-managed setting. Communicate regularly and professionally with parents and guardians regarding student progress, wellbeing, and academic development. Assess and monitor student learning through both formal and informal evaluations, offering constructive feedback. Collaborate with teaching colleagues to exchange best practices and contribute to continuous school improvement. Participate in ongoing professional development to further enhance teaching practice and stay up to date with current educational research.

Skills

Strong ability to inspire and educate young learners with enthusiasm, clarity, and creativity. Skilled in behaviour management strategies that foster a calm and focused learning environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with pupils, parents, and colleagues. Sound understanding of primary education principles, including differentiation and inclusive teaching. Adaptable, reflective, and committed to professional growth and pupil success.

Qualifications

Essential:

A degree in a relevant subject, GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or equivalent), and

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

.

Preferred:

At least 1 year of teaching experience in primary education.
