1:1 Primary Teaching Assistant - Barnsley

Are you calm, caring, and confident supporting individual pupils? Right Education is registering 1:1 Teaching Assistants to support children with additional needs in Barnsley primary schools.

You'll work closely with pupils who need extra guidance -- whether that's due to Autism, SEMH, anxiety, or other SEND needs. Your role is to help them feel settled, engaged, and ready to learn in a busy classroom environment.

What you'll do

Provide focused, one-to-one support for pupils with SEN or learning needs Build trust and consistency through daily routines and encouragement Help pupils regulate emotions, engage with tasks and grow in confidence Collaborate with class teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to meet individual goals

What we're looking for

Experience with children or young people (school, care, or youth work) Calm, patient and dependable under pressure Confidence supporting behaviour and emotional needs At least 5 days per week availability Knowledge of Autism, ADHD or SEMH is a bonus

The details

Pay: 13.69 - 14.61 per hour (depending on experience and school)
Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, term-time
Location: Barnsley and nearby areas
Start: Ongoing - based on your availability and suitability
