About the Role
As a Primary SEND Teaching Assistant, you'll work with pupils aged 4-11 with a range of needs including autism, ADHD, communication difficulties, and global developmental delay. Working alongside experienced teachers and therapists, you'll help pupils overcome barriers to learning and develop both academically and socially.
In this varied and rewarding role, you will:
Deliver 1:1 and small group support in a structured, nurturing classroom
Use visual supports, sensory strategies, and consistent routines to engage pupils
Support children's emotional regulation and model positive behaviour strategies
Help adapt learning activities to suit each child's developmental level
Foster communication, independence, and self-esteem
Contribute to a calm, consistent, and supportive learning environment
What We're Looking For
This role is ideal for candidates with meaningful experience supporting children or vulnerable individuals. Those from education, care, youth services, or therapy backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Hours of Work
Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 3.30pm, term-time only. Both full-time and part-time opportunities available.

Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. We undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position but long term. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available.
