Humly North East are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistant to join one of our primary schools in Newcastle. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and supporting their development in a nurturing school environment. With flexible hours and a negotiable start date, this role is ideal for individuals looking for a rewarding position that fits their schedule.
There are both long-term and short-term temporary positions available with Humly, with the opportunity to be extended!
Key Responsibilities:
Assisting the class teacher with planning and delivering engaging lessons
Supporting students with their learning, both in small groups and on a one-to-one basis
Helping to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
Encouraging students' social and emotional development
Preparing resources and materials for lessons
Supervising children during break times and school activities
Providing additional support to children with special educational needs (SEN) where required
About You:
A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their learning
Teaching Assistant qualification desirable
Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or SEN support role is preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A patient, compassionate, and proactive approach
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Level 3 Safeguarding training (or willingness to complete training provided by Humly)
