Principal Contracts Lawyer - Non Contentious

Salary: \xc2\xa345,234 - \xc2\xa346,680

Location: East Midlands

Working: Remote/Flexible

Sellick Partnership is proud to be working with an excellent East Midlands Local Authority who are seeking to appoint a Principal Lawyer on a permanent basis with flexible/remote working and a salary of up to \xc2\xa346,680.

The Council are looking to recruit a new member to join its already experienced team within Legal Services across the following sectors: Contracts and/or Property and/or Planning. Key duties of the Principal Lawyer:

  • To specialise in contracts, duties would include; reviewing drafting and amending a range of commercial contracts, IT contracts, goods and services, adult social care contracts, framework agreements, consultancy agreements, funding agreements and public procurement matters.
  • Planning would include; sections 106s, planning enforcement notices, planning advice, highways agreements, planning committees once a month.
  • Property would include; Commercial and Residential but would need to have commercial experience with landlord and tenant, leases and licenses, acquisitions and disposals etc

Requirements for Principal Lawyer role include:
  • The ideal candidate will have previous experience within Contracts and/or Property and/or Planning, as well as having well-developed communication skills both written and verbal.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with officers internally, and externally with courts, barristers, professional bodies, and members of the public is essential.
  • Local government experience is desirable, but we welcome applications from people from all parts of the legal sector.
  • The successful candidate will be a qualified Solicitor/Barrister/FILEX with a current Practising Certificate.
