Job summary
The Print room form part of the Estates and Facilities Management (EFM) team and are responsible for supporting the Commission?s objective to provide outstanding parliamentary service through effective management and delivery of support services to Senedd Members, their staff and Commission staff.
The Print Room are a combined Support Services responsible for providing a full reprographic service and the daily collection and delivery of all mail/goods to all stakeholders within the Welsh Parliament.
The postholder?s role will be to assist a busy team to provide a full range of printing and finishing on demand, along with sorting and delivering mail and packaging and preparing outward going mail for collection.
Job description
Key tasks (Printing):
Daily replenishment of consumables (toner, paper etc) for the MFDs across the estate
Carry out routine minor maintenance on production printers
Create, edit and produce documents in electronic format
Maintain electronic filing system for printed documents and requests
Provide a high quality printing service to all departments and members offices across the estate
Request and log service calls for repair/maintenance of machines
Operate high volume production colour printers, a range of mono printers, large format colour printer, and associated finishing equipment including guillotines, laminators, booklet makers, perfect binder, cutter / slitter / creaser equipment and other ancillary print finishing equipment.
Provide advanced digital editing of documents to meet customer requirements
Recording statistical print information on spreadsheets and databases for monitoring purposes.
Key tasks (
Mail Services):
Sorting and distribution of all incoming and outgoing internal and external mail in accordance with all current safety and security requirements.
Have responsibility for the delivery of mail to and from all mail collection points.
Have responsibility for recording and delivering all incoming mail and parcels from a range of companies including Royal Mail, Parcelforce, and various couriers.
Receive, record and deliver deliveries from suppliers to customers throughout the estate.
Responsibility for the weighing and franking of outgoing mail, parcels, etc.
Providing advice and guidance to customers on the full range of mail services available.
Recording statistical mail services information on spreadsheets and databases for monitoring purposes.
Any other duties commensurate with the role to support the wider responsibilities of the team.
Person specification
Job Specific criteria:

Effective IT skills - with the ability to use and print from a range of software packages such as Adobe Acrobat Pro, Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Office.
Experience of working within a busy digital print room environment with familiarity of operating high volume production printers/copiers and large format printers.
Organisational Skills ? be able to manage own time, in order to meet deadlines.
