The Job

Legal and Compliance are partners across the whole business here at Flo. They watch over everything: Flo\'s privacy programme, compliance with regulatory obligations, contract management, IP enforcement\xe2\x80\xa6 you name it.

The team\'s divided into three groups - Privacy & Data Protection, Regulatory & Compliance, and Legal Services, each managing its own area.

As far as our Privacy team is concerned, it doesn\'t get more exciting for privacy professionals than advising varied stakeholders in a rapidly growing healthtech business, especially when protecting sensitive information with a team who are always seeking to utilise new technologies.

This role represents a rare opportunity for a lawyer (either from private practice or in-house) to join a high-performing and growing team of 5, serving a highly impactful mission which is bigger than Flo alone (

Please note: the current Privacy team like to come in roughly once or twice a week to the office in London, but we\'re open to considering applicant\'s preferences and can be flexible.

Your Experience

Must have:

  • Proven experience working in a tech company or reputable law firm
  • Qualified solicitor in the UK with 0-3 years\' PQE
  • Practical understanding in privacy by design
  • Knowledge of risk management
  • Knowledge of OneTrust, JIRA, Confluence, Miro
We\'re seeking out tenacity, positivity and curiosity!

Nice to have:
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies
  • CIPP certifications (CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, CIPP/US or others)
  • Proven track of work in a health tech, digital health or digital wellness company
  • Experience of data protection laws globally (including the US)
What you\'ll be doing

You\'ll be responsible for:
  • Providing privacy and data protection advice to the business
  • Developing and maintaining global privacy policies and procedures
  • Giving guidance to ensure data protection is baked into the design, build, test and deployment stages across activities and departments
  • Carrying out Data Protection Impact Assessments, and providing solutions to mitigate privacy risks
  • With support of the team, undertaking data protection audits and reviews
  • Assisting with the creation and delivery of staff training in privacy best practice (with a particular focus on digital data uses)
  • Undertaking legal research on emerging privacy and data protection laws and guidance
  • Working to ensure that data protection and best practices are fully integrated into the compliance framework of the business
  • Supporting allocated \'partners\' in the business (e.g., Product teams) teams on ensuring data protection by design.
  • Leading allocated projects from the Privacy Programme roadmap.

  • Managing priorities and sound legal thinking.
  • Providing business-oriented and compliant privacy solutions to the company
  • Presenting ideas and advice concisely and proactively assisting teams.
