The role

Wills, estates, trusts - it's personal, and we treat it that way. We're looking for a Private Client Lawyer to join our team.

During life's more difficult and challenging moments, our Private Client team is there to offer reassurance, care, and expert guidance. Whether supporting families through bereavement, managing complex estates or helping clients plan for the future, we pride ourselves on being a steady and compassionate presence.

You'll be joining a team with a fantastic reputation across the region--trusted by generations of clients and respected by peers. Three of our senior lawyers are STEP qualified, and we're known not just for our technical excellence, but for the empathy and dedication we bring to every matter.

As a well-established and forward-thinking team, we advise individuals, families, and business owners on a wide range of private client matters. From high-value estates to complex trusts and succession planning, we provide thoughtful, expert guidance with care and clarity at the heart of everything we do.

Day to day, you will be responsible for managing your own caseload covering:

Wills and Probate

Lasting Powers of Attorney

Court of Protection

Trusts and Estate Planning

You'll also play a key role in mentoring junior lawyers, contributing to the development of the team, and helping to grow our presence across the North East.

To meet client needs, you'll spend some time working from our dedicated workspace within Flok, a vibrant co-working hub in Teesside that promotes collaboration and innovation. However, the role will primarily be based at our modern head office on the outskirts of Durham.

Required experience, skills and attributes

We're looking for a qualified lawyer with at least 4 years PQE and recent, demonstrable experience in private client work. STEP qualification is desirable.
