Personal Care Assistant

Job type: Permanent - Part Time

Shifts available:

27 hours 2 shifts per week. 1 day shift & 1 night shift - Salary 435.50 per week

Or - 3 x 6 hour shift = 18 hrs a week. 6pm to Midnight , salary 277.50 per week

Or -3 x 7 hour shifts = 21 a week. Midnight to 7am, salary 420.00 per week

To provide complex care for a 53 year old gentlemen who has Muscular Dystrophy.

You will carry out all of the same duties as a Care Assistant. However, you will may also deliver some specialist clinical care including PEG Feeding Stoma Care, Non-Invasive Ventilator Care, Nebuliser Care, Cough Assistance Machine, Mouth Care. And a Communication Device. We provide full training on all these procedures.

You will need an absolute minimum of one year previous care experience, either with a care provider, a nursing home or hospital setting, or looking after a family member with complex care needs. Have a good understanding and experience in skills like moving and handling.

Duties:

- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Perform light housekeeping tasks
- Follow a full care plan based on this individual's needs
- Keep accurate records of care provided.

Qualifications:

- An NVQ 2 or equivalent is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with client and his family
- Ability to drive or travel to clients' home as required
- Proficiency in IT for record keeping and communication purposes
- Fluent in English to ensure clear and effective communication
