As full training will be given, this role is open to a wide range of people including law graduates, those starting out in their legal careers as well as someone who is already an experienced paralegal.
Responsibilities include:
Attending meetings both in and out the office with a solicitor to take notes and act as witness for wills and powers of attorney.
Telephoning third parties to request or provide information.
Liaising with valuers to provide valuations for probate and insurance purposes.
Assisting fee earners with the clearance of properties and/or site inspections.
Drafting letters to asset holders/creditors registering the Grant of Probate and paying creditors.
Assisting with payment of legacies and interim distributions including arranging bankruptcy searches and payments to other third parties.
Preparing S27 Trustee Act Notices and Royal Mail redirections.
Completing closure forms and indemnities for lost paperwork relating to shares/policies.
Working with the Team Leader to respond to all incoming calls either by allocating them to a colleague or by dealing with more minor queries personally.
All other administrative work required in relation to probate, will and power of attorney
