We are seeking a Process Technician, working on an annualised hours 24/7 shift pattern as part of a small shift team, with responsibility for the safe operation of the Bio Acrylamide plant.

You will be responsible for the safe operation of the Bio Acrylamide plant from raw material deliveries through to finished product storage, including participation in PHA and Hazop processes, developing and maintaining standard operating procedures, delivering safety, quality, environmental and scheduled output targets and controlling maintenance activities using the permit to work system. Continuous improvement is essential using the management of change process and you will support robust safety practices and plans for emergency situations, including simulation exercises and reviews of performance.

In this role, you will also be evaluating the chemical characteristics of raw materials and products throughout the process as defined in the quality procedures, performing routine maintenance, calibrations and safety checks on process laboratory equipment and evaluating the suitability of risk assessments or permit to work for safety and maintenance activities carried out on plant and machinery associated with upper tier COMAH activities.

What you\'ll bring to the team:
  • A degree in Science or Engineering discipline or equivalent OR experience in the chemical or process industry in an operations or technical role.
  • Chemical manufacturing experience in an Upper Tier COMAH site and/or laboratory experience would be an advantage.
  • A nationally recognised safety qualification eg NEBOSH Certificate (or willingness to study to achieve the qualification)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a good level of English (written and verbal) and numeracy skills
  • Attention to detail and committed to upholding high standards of working and able to work autonomously and closely follow process procedures.
  • A good level of computer literacy.
  • A commitment to personal development and aspirations to develop within the company or take on additional responsibility
