Job Description

Guardian Shield Doors are a start up company looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Procurement & Logistics Coordinator to join their Office Team in Milton Keynes.

You will be responsible for building strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating pricing and lead times, managing stock levels, and coordinating deliveries to support smooth production and dispatch operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:



Procurement & Supplier Management



Source and purchase door blanks, hardware, timber, seals, glass, and other fire door components from approved suppliers. Build and maintain strong working relationships with key suppliers. Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times agreements to achieve best value and reliability. Monitor supplier performance (quality, delivery times, responsiveness) and address any issues promptly. Raise purchase orders and maintain accurate procurement records.

Stock Control & Inventory Management



Monitor stock levels to ensure production demands are met without overstocking. Work closely with production and stores teams to forecast material requirements. Maintain accurate inventory records and support regular stock checks. Identify slow-moving or obsolete stock and assist in stock optimisation initiatives.

Logistics & Delivery Coordination



Schedule and book inbound deliveries of materials and outbound shipments of finished goods. Coordinate with our chosen hauliers and courier services to ensure timely and cost-effective transport. Oversee goods-in processes to ensure all deliveries are checked and recorded accurately. Liaise with production and dispatch to minimise downtime due to material shortages or delivery delays.

Administration & Compliance



Maintain accurate purchase and delivery documentation within company systems (e.g., ERP/MRP or spreadsheets). Ensure all materials purchased comply with fire door certification and specification requirements. Support audits and certification processes by providing procurement and delivery records as needed.

Person Specification :



Proven experience in Procurement, Purchasing, and Logistics (Preferably in a manufacturing or construction related industry) Strong negotiation and communication skills with the ability to manage supplier relationships effectively and professionally. Excellent organisation and attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and/or ERP/MRP systems. Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks, and meet strict deadlines. A proactive and solutions-oriented approach to problem solving. Punctual, reliable and a team player.

Desirable:



Experience in joinery, door, or fire door manufacturing environments. Understanding of fire certification and door component compliance requirements.

Package :
