We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and strategic Direct Procurement Manager to lead our Services Procurement and Stock Control functions. This is a pivotal role where you'll oversee the full procurement cycle, manage stock operations, and drive value creation across the business.

Leading a team of 7 employees, (3 Buyers, 1 Operational Buyer, and 3 Warehouse staff), you'll ensure high performance, collaboration, and efficiency across procurement and warehouse operations. You'll play a key role in supplier strategy, systems implementation, and shaping a resilient, efficient and cost-effective supply chain.

Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team ManagementLead and develop a team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and high performance. Set clear objectives, priorities, and professional development plans for all team members.

Procurement & Sourcing

Manage end-to-end sourcing activities across direct categories including solar and heat pumps. Working with internal stakeholders to establish the product portfolio, leading supplier selection, tendering, and contract negotiation to secure best-in-class commercial and service outcomes. Drive category management strategies that align with business objectives and deliver long-term value. Monitor market trends and provide insights to inform decisions and maintain a competitive edge.

Supplier & Performance Management

Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to meet quality, cost, delivery, and sustainability goals. Ensure compliance with internal and external procurement policies. Lead supplier performance reviews and implement improvement initiatives. Identify opportunities for innovation, value creation, and cost savings.

Stock & Warehouse Management

Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships, ensuring quality, cost, delivery, and sustainability goals are met. Ensuring compliance to internal and external policies. Lead supplier performance reviews and implement improvement initiatives where required.

Projects & Systems Implementation

Act as a key lead in the implementation and use of SAP as an MRP system, ensuring smooth integration and ongoing adoption. Support strategic projects to improve efficiency, cost control, resilience, and risk management across procurement and stock management.


What you'll need to succeed





We're looking for a collaborative and driven Procurement Manager, who is an innovative thinker that thrives when identifying opportunities to add value, cut costs, and drive improvement.

You'll bring proven experience in building strong stakeholder relationships and communication skills to influence at every level. With hands-on knowledge of stock control and warehouse management, you'll thrive in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and meeting deadlines are key to success.

Essentials:Proven experience in procurement, supply chain or category management. Strong background in sourcing, supplier negotiations, and contract management. Demonstrable success in leading and developing high-performing teams. Using market intelligence to create budgets and influence category strategies Hands-on experience with stock control and warehouse operations. Knowledge of working with SAP and/or MRP systems. Strong commercial acumen, analytical ability, and project management skills. Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) membership or relevant postgraduate qualification Experience of sustainable and ethical sourcing
