Key Responsibilities

Manage the end-to-end procurement and supply chain of medicines and pharmacy products Negotiate and manage national and local supplier contracts to optimise cost and value Oversee supplier relationships, performance, and service levels Ensure continuous stock availability and effective inventory management Lead responses to medicine recalls, shortages, and supply disruptions Maintain quality control and compliance with regulatory and governance standards Manage procurement systems, stock control platforms, and reporting processes Lead and support procurement and supply chain staff Work closely with clinical teams to align procurement decisions with patient care requirements Monitor spend, identify efficiencies, and deliver cost-saving initiatives

Essential Requirements

Proven experience in pharmacy procurement, medicines management, or supply chain roles Strong understanding of pharmaceutical supply chains and compliance requirements Experience negotiating contracts and managing suppliers Strong analytical, organisational, and stakeholder-management skills Ability to work effectively across clinical, operational, and financial teams

Desirable

Experience within NHS, private pharmacy, or multi-site pharmacy environments Familiarity with pharmacy procurement systems and stock management platform
