West Berkshire Council is seeking a Procurement Officer to join our Commissioning and Procurement Service, reporting to the Category Manager - Social Care. The Role
As Procurement Officer - you will be responsible for:
Leading the procurement and commissioning of community and wellbeing services, ensuring value for money and high quality service delivery
Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders and service managers to identify commissioning needs and develop appropriate procurement strategies
Managing supplier relationships and contract performance to drive continuous improvement
Conducting market analysis and engagement to inform commissioning decisions
Providing expert procurement advice and guidance to colleagues
In this role, you will play a key part in shaping the future of community and wellbeing services at West Berkshire Council, ensuring that we meet the needs of our residents and deliver excellent value for public money.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
Proven experience in procurement and commissioning, ideally within a public sector environment
Strong knowledge of procurement processes and EU regulations
Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels Analytical and data-driven, with the ability to conduct market analysis and make informed recommendations
Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as part of a team

You will also be entitled to a generous annual leave entitlement starting at 29 days per annum (plus public holidays) Rising by an additional 5 days after 5 yearss service.
