Job Description

Michelmersh Brick Holdings are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual to join our Innovation and Sustainability team as a Procurement and Supply Chain Manager.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement and Supply Chain Manager to oversee and optimise our procurement and supply chain operations. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient acquisition, storage, and distribution of raw materials, components, services and finished goods required for the operations, maintenance and compliance of manufacturing clay building products. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, supplier management experience, and a deep understanding of supply chain best practices within the manufacturing sector.

Although this role is advertised in Leicestershire, other Michelmersh locations will be considered for this role depending on level of experience and current location of the candidate.

Key Responsibilities:



Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure cost-effective sourcing of raw materials and components across multiple sites Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and logistics partners to optimise cost, quality, and reliability Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve the best possible value for the company Monitor supplier performance and manage supplier risk through a risk matrix, ensuring compliance with company standards, policies and regulatory requirements in accordance with ISO 20400 Oversee inventory management systems, ( including enhancement or implementation thereof) and demand forecasting to maintain optimal stock levels while minimising waste and excess inventory Collaborate with production, operations, and finance teams to ensure seamless supply chain processes Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including disruptions due to market fluctuations, geopolitical factors, and logistical challenges Implement and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and best practices to drive efficiency and compliance. Manage and co-ordinate the Michelmersh Supplier Charter process, its reporting and implement a continuous programme of improvements to improve data accuracy and compliance Utilise data analytics (such as PowerBI) and supply chain management software to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and improve supply chain efficiency Support the individual site teams responsible for procurement and logistics in their departments, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence Support the Technical team with relevant data requirements for audit or assurance processes Support the Innovation department in investigating and procuring alternative sustainable materials, services, equipment or partners towards the Group's strategy and roadmap
Please note the successful candidate will be expected to travel to other sites for visits at least 2x per month.

Key Requirements:



Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred) Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management, preferably within the building products or manufacturing industry and experience in ISO 20400 implementation, auditing and management Strong knowledge of procurement processes, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management Experience in demand planning, inventory management, and logistics coordination Excellent proficiency in Microsoft 365 platform, ERP and supply chain management software (Microsoft fabric platform experience is preferred) Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Strong communication and leadership abilities, with experience managing and supporting diverse teams Knowledge of sustainability practices and regulatory compliance within the supply chain Ability to work independently or as a team, prioritising workload and hitting project timeframes and budgets Knowledge of Health and Safety is desirable

What we offer
