The Procurement / Supply Chain Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the smooth and efficient operation of purchasing, logistics, and order management processes across the business. Key duties include:
Order Management & Logistics
Handle all Rieke China purchase orders and ensure accuracy within the new LN system and order tracking spreadsheet.
Maintain up-to-date records of all China orders, ensuring the spreadsheet reflects the latest status for use across the business.
Obtain, log, and monitor air freight quotes through to delivery completion.
Process PZ Cussons call-off orders in a timely manner.
Complete and issue Invoices and Packing Lists for customers including PZ Cussons and Henkel.
Raise purchase orders (POs) for finished goods.
Supplier & Compliance Management
Issue, log, and maintain databases for Supplier Compliance Questionnaires and Long-Term Supplier Declarations.
Chase suppliers for promised shipment dates and update LN System accordingly.
Run the Planner Workbench and raise orders as needed.
Monitor the Inventory Control Home in the LN System to identify and mitigate potential component supply issues in advance.
Assist in annual packaging waste data submissions.
Coordination & Support
Provide proactive administrative and operational support to both the Purchasing Manager and Supply Chain Manager.
Issue quality certificates and communicate with customers on behalf of the Quality department.
Provide contingency cover for purchasing and supply chain functions during holidays and absences.
Support general administrative tasks as required.
Communication & General Duties
Respond to main switchboard calls as part of the Customer Service team rota.
Carry out other reasonable duties as required that align with the role and skill level.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications of the Supply Chain Assistant:
Good standard of basic education
Computer literate (MS Applications), verbal and written communication skills, leadership potential, planning/organisational skills, structured
Good competence in mathematics
Attention to detail
Use of ERP system
Assertive, confident, ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, enthusiastic, can do attitude, career minded, proactive/forward thinking
Desired qualifications of the Supply Chain Assistant:
Degree in relevant field
Packaging Industry experience or manufacturing experience
French or Spanish speaker
* Previous experience of purchasing/supply chain
