Job Description

Are you deeply committed to develop fully detailed CAD models and technical drawings of architectural joinery products, mainly performance doorsets, and glazed screens, using AutoCAD or SolidWorks. This role is responsible for ensuring products are accurately detailed for manufacture, installation, and compliance, and for maintaining the technical libraries and standards that support repeatability and efficiency across projects.

What you'll do

Produce accurate 2D and 3D drawings and models for bespoke and system-based joinery products in AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks. Develop full product detailing including materials, finishes, fixings, tolerances, and manufacturing instructions. Collaborate with design managers, project teams, and production staff to refine details and resolve clashes or buildability issues. Maintain and update a central library of standardised product details, components, and templates for reuse and consistency. Interpret architectural and design intent drawings to translate into manufacturable joinery solutions. Apply relevant building regulations, joinery standards, and technical specifications to product detailing. Support the preparation of technical documentation for O&M manuals and product certification packs. Assist with R&D and continuous improvement efforts on detailing methods, product innovation, and production efficiency. Respond to queries from production, site, or commercial teams related to technical drawings and detailing issues.

What We're Looking For

Proven experience in technical detailing for architectural joinery, furniture, or bespoke interiors. Proficient in AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks (Solid modelling and 2D detailing preferred). Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, particularly in timber and panel-based joinery. Ability to interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and survey information. Familiarity with relevant regulations (e.g., BS 1186, fire performance, acoustic, DDA). Excellent attention to detail and ability to work within defined standards. Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team.

Desirable Qualifications

Formal qualification in Product Design, Engineering, or Architectural Joinery (e.g., HNC, HND, Degree). Experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally in a construction or fit-out context. Knowledge of PLM/PDM systems and standardisation techniques. Experience using design libraries and templates to drive standardisation.
