The Role

Reporting to the Process & Product Development Manager, you will support the development of new and existing products from concept to launch. You will plan and carry out trials (from extrusion and baking to packaging and shelf-life testing), complete technical documentation, support customer specification processes, and help bring exciting ideas to life on the factory floor. You will also work closely with teams across production, technical, quality, and packaging, with the opportunity to learn, grow, and develop your career within a supportive and fast-moving environment.

Key Responsibilities

Organise and deliver product trials, using both pilot and full-scale production equipment Ensure palatability, shelf-life, nutritional data, and legal requirements are met for all new developments Accurately complete product specs, pack copy, and trial documentation Support the build of customer recipes and specification systems Develop and issue quality attribute sheets (QAS) to production teams Attend and support first production runs, ensuring smooth transition from trial to launch Collaborate with the Packaging Development Technologist to align packaging and product development Support continuous improvement, challenging current processes to enhance quality and efficiency

Preferred Experience (but not essential):

Background in FMCG or food manufacturing Experience in NPD or technical/product development Understanding of customer specification systems Nutritional/food science background is a plus--but not essential
