We are developing a world-class product management organisation and have an exciting opportunity for a Product Manager to help us define and develop the user experience in our mobile apps.

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead the Economist App Customer Journeys team, with a primary focus on creating world-class in-app experiences for our subscribers. You will be part of a team that is innovating and enhancing our flagship app, with the ultimate goal of growing, engaging and retaining a diverse audience of paying subscribers. You will be working closely with a number of other mission teams to drive significant impact for The Economist users and business.

Organisation:

  • Reports to the Group Product Manager (Apps)
  • Working closely with senior functional stakeholders, especially editorial, data, marketing and customer experience
Accountabilities

How you will contribute:
  • You\xe2\x80\x99ll bring a deep understanding of defining and developing mobile apps, and play a key role in motivating and leading the full-stack development team
  • You\xe2\x80\x99ll work in close collaboration with cross-functional partners, from editorial to marketing, to define requirements, ideate hypotheses and develop solutions
  • You\xe2\x80\x99ll bring experience of optimising customer journeys and supporting an ecommerce/commercial organisation, including evidence of IAP journeys and challenges
  • You will be adept at understanding engagement and retention data trends that will help to define next steps and measure the impact of your work
  • You will bring experience of a test-and-learn development culture
  • You\xe2\x80\x99ll be able to confidently lead and collaborate well with designers, developers, QA and delivery leads, using Agile methodologies to their full potential
  • Confident creating user stories, use cases, requirements and setting the direction for your team
  • You\xe2\x80\x99ll have laser focus on value prioritisation and impact for the business and user, balancing delivery and quality at all times
  • You\xe2\x80\x99ll bring extensive experience of applying the most appropriate frameworks and techniques for the right situations. (eg story mapping, workshop facilitation, opportunity/solution trees and roadmap planning)
  • You\xe2\x80\x99ll communicate your vision and impact effectively, providing updates at an appropriate level of detail to both stakeholders and colleagues
  • You\xe2\x80\x99ll be passionate for working closely with great designers and engineers to build delightful app experiences in a fast-paced environment
