As Simply Plastics continues to grow, we're seeking a
Production Assistant
to support multiple production teams and help keep operations running efficiently. The role is active and varied, suited to someone who thrives in a busy, practical environment and takes pride in supporting a team that works at pace.
Key Responsibilities
Measure and inspect components produced on CNC machines to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality compliance.
Prepare materials and components for production runs according to job specifications and work orders.
Carry out finishing operations such as edge polishing, deburring, cleaning, and general surface finishing.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in accordance with company policies.
Handle materials carefully to prevent damage and ensure efficient workflow between departments.
Skills & Experience Required
Ability to read and interpret basic
technical drawings
and specifications.
Experience using
measuring tools
such as verniers, micrometres, or callipers (training can be provided).
Good attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards
Current or recent, Counterbalance Fork Truck license
Practical, hands-on approach with an interest in manufacturing or engineering.
Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
Basic understanding of health and safety procedures in a workshop or production environment.
Desirable (but not essential)
Previous experience in plastics, fabrication, or precision manufacturing.
Familiarity with polishing, trimming, or finishing processes.
