- Production

Assistant (5am-12pm_

Due to our ongoing expansion a fantastic opportunity as arisen for an experienced production assistant to join a purpose built, well renowned, long-established and family owned sausage manufacturing plant in Accrington.

You will be required to work along side and assist our production team and help in all aspects of general production, pre-production and cleaning.

Job Requirements:

The plant is a busy, fast paced environment and the ideal candidate will need to have a good work ethic, be hands on, work smart, able to get your head down, sleeves rolled up, get stuck in and work at a good pace.

You will need to be able and comfortable working in a refrigerated cold room environment (all necessary PPE will be provided).

Must be punctual, reliable & trustworthy.

Ability to plan and organise your own workload and show initiative.

Must have a real can do attitude and have an eagerness to learn.

Involves the handling of various meat cuts including Pork, Beef & Poultry.

Job Responsibilities:

Assist with all aspects of packing and preparation, predominantly the packing, labeling and boxing of fresh sausage and steak canadiann. Assist with all other packing and pre production requirements. Assist with cleaning of all machinery and areas.

Job Pay, Hours and Start, Finish Times

12.25 per hour - 398 per week - 20,700 per year.

The role is 5 days per week - Working Mon to Friday.

Start Time 5am.

Finish Time 12pm.

(6.5 paid hours per day with a 30 min unpaid break each day)

Total of 35 hours per week of which 32.5 hours are paid with 30 mins each day unpaid break.

28 days Holiday inc statutory bank holidays accrued over a 12 month period Jan - Dec.

(NB: the job on occasion may need you to work on a certain bank holidays or on a weekend day but only on very limited occasions. A day will be given back in lieu when this is the case)
