The Electronics Production Engineer will play a critical role in supporting and optimizing all aspects of Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) production and the mechanical/wiring department. The role involves programming production machines, developing and documenting processes, providing clear work instructions, and offering technical support to production staff. The ideal candidate will be a team player with strong self-management skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Duties
PCBA Production Support:
Program and maintain automated equipment such as pick-and-place machines, soldering machines, and AOI systems.
Troubleshoot production equipment and ensure minimal downtime.
Mechanical/Wiring Department Support:
Develop and maintain wiring diagrams and assembly processes.
Support the mechanical assembly team with technical guidance and troubleshooting.
Process Development:
Analyse current production processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
Implement new processes and technologies to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
Create and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for all production activities.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with production staff to address technical challenges and improve workflows.
Collaborate with design and quality teams to ensure manufacturability and compliance with standards.
oProvide training and mentorship to production staff on equipment use and best practices.
Self-Driven Projects:
Take initiative in driving projects aimed at reducing costs, improving quality, and increasing throughput.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements to bring innovative solutions to the production floor.
Quality Assurance:
Monitor production output to ensure it meets quality standards and specifications.
Conduct root cause analysis for production defects and implement corrective actions.
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of PCBA processes, including SMT and through-hole assembly.
Proficient in programming and maintaining production equipment.
Familiarity with mechanical assembly and wiring techniques.
Knowledge of ESD protocols and quality standards (e.g., IPC-A-610, ISO 9001).
Problem-Solving:
Ability to analyse complex issues and implement effective solutions quickly.
Communication:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to provide clear instructions and collaborate effectively with teams.

Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in electronics production or a similar role.
Hands-on experience with PCBA equipment and mechanical/wiring assemblies.
Proficiency in CAD software and ERP/MRP systems is desirable.
