The Role

Role Requirements:



The right candidate will be self driven, motivated and able to make informed decisions and not be a follower. The role will on occasion be required to accompany the Sales team on customer visits and or accompany the Purchasing team on supplier visits.

Responsibilities



You will be responsible for the maintenance of existing processes in accordance with ISO 9001/14001 procedures. The candidate will be able to detect and/or resolve reported problems in the Manufacturing areas, leading to increased efficiencies and a safer working environment. You will contribute in structured problem solving activities and in some cases lead a team of people when the situation dictates. Lead the transfer of new product to manufacturing, ensuring all documentation and process information is available. Providing (Including but not exhaustive) Process control documentation, drawings, risk assessments. Produce and maintain component/assembly routings and bills of material on the computerised EFACS system. Able to recommend adequate facilities, tooling and or equipment to achieve new product build at the required quality and within required processing times. Be able to then source, prove and introduce the approved recommendations. Fault find and correct issues with production line kit. Facilitate communications with the equipment suppliers and where required internal maintenance, to seek a resolution to problems where local knowledge cannot resolve the issue in a timely manner. Understand and analyse test data, recommend / implement improvements to enhance process capability. Ability to use and implement process control techniques including SPC, Process flow, Poka-Yoke, line balancing etc. Liase with both customers and suppliers as required. Give and receive information on behalf of the company in a manner expected of the position. Train and mentor assembly staff during new product introduction. Actively promote and encourage the pursuit of continuous improvement activities in the assembly and component manufacturing departments, be responsible for the standard/quality of your output 5S, Kaizen etc. Be responsible for the standard/quality of your output and be accepting of new opportunities to expand your skills. Actively ensure safe working practices are maintained at all times, keeping a clean and safe working environment.

Personal Skills / Experience



Will have knowledge of electro-mechanical design skills. Will be capable to working closely with the design team and interpret a design to be able to implement into production Must be able to demonstrate successful manufacturing experience and implementation abilities. Machining experience is essential. Able to prepare manufacturing costings. Will be required to maintain and update the business control system database, routings, bill of material etc. Maintain project documentation in accordance with the relevant ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 procedures. Use of CAD systems preferably able to use the current Auto CAD system to design and read drawings. Understand tooling, component and assembly drawings. Must be capable of report writing and preparing expenditure justifications. Will require an eye to detail, be able to deliver complete work packages in a timely manner Have the skills to implement process controls and deliver continuous improvements. Be self driven, motivated and able to make informed decisions.
