Purpose of the role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Production Engineer to join our growing, dynamic PCBA Engineering team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing production processes, ensuring efficiency, and maintaining high-quality standards, whilst introducing New Product (NPI), Projects and Product via adequate engineering processes.

As the Production Engineer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient production operations while driving continuous improvement initiatives, whilst demonstrating proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks.

Primary duties and responsibilities

Support introduction of new products (NPI) into the business, utilising knowledge, and experience in PCBA manufacturing. Interpret a wide variety of customer provided data, determine build process, and provide supporting documentation for manufacturing. Supervising the manufacturing processes, ensuring quality work is done in a safe, efficient manner. Diagnose problems in production, offer technical solutions and provide recommendations and training. Collate data for departmental and business KPIs. Liaising with other internal departments and engineers to develop plans that improve production, reduce costs, increase efficiencies.

The ideal person will demonstrate the following:

Ideally 2-5 years experience working in a production engineering role or similar position within a relevant manufacturing environment A formal Engineering Qualification to Degree, Apprenticeship or HNC/HND level within a relevant discipline, electronics is preferred Strong understanding of schematics and the ability to fabricate components effectively Proficiency in CAD software, particularly SolidWorks, is required The ability to provide customer feedback from any witnessed build issues, with a view to improving quality and efficiencies Proficient Computer Literacy skills with the use of MS Word, Excel and Outlook Strong communication skills, whilst collaborating as a team and being self-motivated to drive projects forward Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are crucial for success in this role.
