The Role
IAE is seeking a dynamic Production Manager to lead our manufacturing operations. This individual will oversee day-to-day production, drive continuous improvement, and ensure that all processes meet high standards of quality, efficiency, and safety. Based in our state-of-the-art Stoke-on-Trent facility, the successful candidate will play a key role in mentoring teams, managing production schedules, and ensuring seamless coordination across departments.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee daily manufacturing operations to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality output.
Develop and manage weekly, monthly, and annual production schedules aligned with business objectives.
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues to minimise downtime and maintain operational continuity.
Implement and enforce company policies, safety protocols, and quality standards across the production floor.
Provide ongoing training, mentoring, and development for technicians and operatives.
Lead, motivate, and coach staff to achieve departmental KPIs and performance targets.
Identify and implement process improvements to optimise production efficiency and reduce waste.
Ensure accurate resource planning and effective inventory management in collaboration with the supply chain team.
Liaise with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Quality, and HR to align production goals.
Prepare and present departmental performance reports to senior leadership.
Manage the department's budget and ensure cost-effective operations.
The Candidate
We are looking for an experienced, hands-on leader with a manufacturing background and a passion for team development and operational excellence.
Skills and Experience:
Minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing or production management role, preferably in steel fabrication or assembly.
Strong technical aptitude and ability to resolve complex production challenges.
Proven leadership and team management experience, including mentoring and staff development.
Experience with ISO9001-accredited environments and adherence to quality control systems.
Familiarity with ERP systems, MRP-driven scheduling, and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
Experience working with Manufacturing Engineering on process data, factory layout, and New Product Introduction (NPI).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively across departments and with senior management.
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
