Job Description

Victorian Sliders, the UK's largest PVCu manufacturer of sliding sash windows, is seeking a Production Operator to join our team on a full-time, 12 month temporary contract basis. The ideal candidate will support the efficient and high-quality manufacture of windows by operating machinery, assembling components, and following production processes to meet daily targets. The role requires attention to detail, adherence to health and safety standards, and a commitment to maintaining the high standards of craftsmanship associated with Victorian Sliders products.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:



Operate production line machinery and tools safely and efficiently to manufacture sash windows in accordance with company standards. Assemble window components including frames, sashes, glazing, and hardware to precise specifications. Carry out quality checks at various stages of production to ensure all products meet required quality and safety standards. Follow detailed work instructions, technical drawings, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace in line with health and safety regulations. Report any defects, equipment issues, or safety concerns to a team leader or supervisor promptly. Meet hourly and daily production targets while maintaining high attention to detail and product accuracy. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to identify process improvements and support continuous improvement initiatives. Support loading and unloading of materials as required, and ensure accurate labelling and storage of finished products. Participate in regular training and toolbox talks to stay compliant with company procedures and health & safety updates

Desirable:



Previous experience in a manufacturing, assembly, or production environment. Experience working with hand tools, power tools, or machinery. Forklift licence or other relevant certifications (e.g., Manual Handling, Health & Safety). Knowledge of window or glazing products, or experience in the fenestration industry

Essential:



Basic understanding of spoken English Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment. Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team. Basic problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and report faults. Ability to follow health and safety procedures and work instructions precisely. Hardworking and committed to maintaining high standards of workmanship. Dependable and trustworthy, with a strong sense of responsibility and a good work ethic. Strong attention to detail to ensure consistent quality and accuracy in work. Flexible and adaptable to changing production demands or tasks. Takes pride in producing quality work and contributing to customer satisfaction. Respectful of colleagues and promotes a cooperative working environment.

Monday to Friday 6am - 2pm 40 hours per week Overtime available No weekends
