Brief Description

We are thrilled to offer an exceptional opportunity for a motivated individual to join our team as a Programme Manager. In this role, you will be at the forefront of driving and implementing impactful change projects within the infrastructure team of Wessex. Your primary focus will revolve around key strategic themes, including Culture, Workforce Safety, Efficiency, Deployment of New Technology, and Continuous Improvement.

As a Programme Manager, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders across the Wessex route team, ensuring their objectives and programs align with the operational needs of our business. You will play a pivotal role in responding to emerging demands, supporting our overarching mission of delivering safe and high-performance operations. Your profound expertise in maintaining robust controls and governance will be instrumental in ensuring seamless program delivery throughout the function.

About the role (External)

1. Develop and deliver a specific programme of work, on time, to budget and to other agreed success criteria within corporate guidelines including the Investment Competence Framework.

2. Work with the client to establish an effective relationship supporting effective delivery, performance measurement and management of change. This should encompass where appropriate communications with outside bodies.

3. Develop and manage the Programme team (including external suppliers), monitoring adequate resources available to deliver a flexible, competent, skilled and effective workforce at all times.

4. Achieve the programme outturn and margins as agreed with the Programme Director.

5. Develop an appropriate strategy for the development and delivery of the Programme work scope.

6. Identify priority opportunities within the programme and lead promotion and sharing of best practice between programmes.

7. Monitor planning so that it considers cross-programme requirements and supports the effective delivery of contracted obligations.

8. Undertake accident investigation when remitted by the relevant designated competent person

9. Identify and implement quality and efficiency improvement initiatives.

10. Lead and inspire the team to maintain full engagement in meeting business objectives.

11. Manage and comply with company procedures to provide appropriate resources, communication strategies, training, competency and evaluate fitness of staff to safely deliver their accountabilities.

12. Act upon and discharge of, all Construction Design Management (CDM) obligations for projects as directed.

Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Essential

\xc2\xb7 Able to lead a team and motivate team members.

\xc2\xb7 Relevant experience in the successful management of major programmes of work in the construction and/or rail industries.

\xc2\xb7 Strong commercial and negotiation skills.

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of the principles of investment processes and procedures.

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of the principles of Health & Safety legislation, environmental and best practice.

\xc2\xb7 Construction design management competence

\xc2\xb7 Project safety management experience

\xc2\xb7 Accident investigation experience.

Desirable

\xc2\xb7 Six Sigma Yellow Belt.

Salary: \xc2\xa371,163 - \xc2\xa380,060 plus Inner London Allowance of \xc2\xa33,270 per annum

Our Drugs and Alcohol Standard is changing as of 16.01.2023. All prospective candidates who have not been offered a conditional role by 16.01.2023 will be required to undergo and pass a drugs and alcohol test. Your application will be rescinded if you record a positive test. All positive drugs and alcohol test results for prospective candidates will be securely held on database and a 5 year suspension from applying for a safety critical role, a role which requires PTS certification or a Key Safety role on Network Rail Managed Infrastructure will be enforced.
