Project Administrator (Electrical Contractor)

Job Purpose:


The Project Administrator supports the delivery of electrical contracting projects by managing documentation, coordinating schedules, facilitating communication, and ensuring projects run efficiently, on time, and within budget. This role is central to administrative control, compliance, and operational support for project teams.

Key Responsibilities:



Provide day-to-day administrative support to project managers and field supervisors for electrical construction projects. Maintain and organize project documentation, including contracts, drawings, specifications, submittals, change orders, and meeting minutes. Schedule and coordinate project meetings; prepare agendas and record meeting minutes. Assist in planning, coordination, and execution of projects, ensuring compliance with timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Track and manage project costs, billing, budgets, and change orders; support project accounting processes. Update and maintain project management systems, trackers, and logs, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Facilitate communication between project teams, clients, vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors. Monitor project progress, deadlines, and deliverables, reporting any issues to project leadership. Support contract compliance by managing documentation for audits and quality assurance. Assist with procurement tasks and help expedite materials and resources needed for project execution. Activities specific to electrical contracting, such as handling technical submittals, creating and updating RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements), and reading electrical construction drawings.

Essential Skills & Experience:



Competency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and commonly used project management software (such as MS Project or Procore). Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise across teams and with stakeholders. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt to shifting project priorities. Knowledge of construction project documentation standards, budgets, and compliance requirements is highly valued.

Desirable Qualifications/Experience:



Experience working in a similar role in the construction or electrical industry Qualifications in Business Administration, Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience. CAD software experience or training

Work Environment:


This role is typically office-based but may require occasional site visits. The Project Administrator will work regular hours but may need to accommodate project deadlines with some flexibility.

Working hours would be 9am - 5pm, Monday - Friday - 37.5 Hours per week

Reporting Line:


Reports to the Project Manager or Operations Director.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 24,000.00-27,000.00 per year
