Job Description


We are looking to appoint a project co-ordinator to support the work of the BrainWaves study. BrainWaves is a 10-year longitudinal study into adolescent mental health, bringing together several scientific disciplines with education partners, to change how mental health problems in school-aged children are studied and addressed. The post is full time; however, consideration would be given to candidates wishing to work part time (minimum 80% FTE) on a pro rata basis.

The post is based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital, Oxford.

The post is for a fixed term (funded to 31 August 2025).

The post will be an integral part of this exciting, growing project and the post holder will bring a can-do approach, willingness to take responsibility, completer/finisher mindset, attention to detail and problem-solving skills. The post holder will join a friendly and engaged team of individuals working with a strong social purpose, and the successful candidate will cherish being part of this talented team making a real difference.

You will provide support to the project management activities of the project, and will provide administrative assistance to all activity across the project, working with team-members to deliver a high standard of support. Tasks will include reporting on project activity and organising meetings and workshops. This is a varied role that would suit someone who enjoys a mix of administrative tasks, deputising and process ownership, and who is keen to develop towards a project management role

You will be educated to degree level or equivalent, with experience I of managing project or comparable activity. With excellent administrative and organisational skills, you will have flexible approach to your work, initiative, and a willingness to accept responsibility and work independently. You should be able to analyse, interpret and present detailed data (numerical and text), working with accuracy and attention to detail. Experience of managing research project and working in higher education would be desirable.
