Job description
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, hardworking individual to join our team as a Project Development & Funding Officer. The PDFU (Project Development & Funding Unit) is renowned for its ability to draw in funding from external sources and has shown, repeatedly, to have an outstanding performance in delivering all manner of projects, from inception to completion. The Unit has an excellent track record in helping to make the County a better place to live, relax and work by developing amenities for sport, culture, recreation, education, the environment and general well-being. Team members have a 'Can Do' attitude and a creative approach to meeting challenges head-on, delivering projects under a wide range of unique scenarios. The work is exciting, multi-faceted, often technical and demanding.



As a Project Development & Funding Officer, you will work with a wide range of client groups in making grant acquisitions and assisting them with complex issues which might include legislation, procurement, Standards, governance, and technical expertise, etc. You will be asked to assist with setting up and managing a range of Renewable Energy Community Benefit Funds. Part of the role will require sound project management skills and a need to prioritise and work under your own initiative.



Your daily routine will include:-


Making Grant Applications to a wide range of Funders. Assisting with the smooth governance of the Community Benefit Funds the Unit has been charged with. When called upon, to project manage initiatives that are being developed for the Third Sector and the County Council. Research and adding to the knowledge base of the Unit by exploring new funding streams and new clients. Working with partner Organisations across the Council and the Voluntary Sector. As experience grows, to expand portfolio to assist other Directorates, Corporate policies and the Council's objectives and principles.

Do you have?


A willingness to learn Experience in seeking out funding A project management background Experience of working with partners at strategic, operational and community level Ability to work under pressure, to be resilient and to meet priorities and deadlines Good negotiating skills A knowledge of the Third Sector Knowledge of the County Borough

Full training will be provided in the role but a Project Management qualification (Prince 2 or equivalent) would be advantageous.
