Ark Fire Protection are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager for our Fire Stopping and Fire Doors department to join our team in Peterborough.

Role Responsibilities



The role of Project Manager is a key role in the business and will require a flexible and proactive approach. As Project Manager, you will deliver on a wide range of tasks working amongst key individuals and departments within the business to support the delivery of excellence to our clients.

Role Responsibilities



Project Planning & Coordination:



Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget estimates for fire door installation and fire protection projects. Review project specifications, site drawings/blueprints, and safety codes to ensure compliance with local regulations and industry standards. Ensure that fire doors and fire protection systems are designed and implemented according to client requirements.

Client & Vendor Management:



Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring effective communication and satisfaction. Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to procure materials and services necessary for fire door and fire protection system installation. Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and vendors to ensure the best terms and delivery schedules.

Budget and Cost Control:



Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring that projects are completed within financial parameters Track project costs, approve invoices, and manage resources to prevent cost overruns and ensure the efficient use of funds. Obtain and review quotes for all materials prior to ordering Implement cost-effective strategies without compromising quality or safety standards.

Schedule & Resource Management:



Create and maintain project schedules, ensuring that key milestones are met on time. Allocate resources efficiently, ensuring all necessary labor, materials, and equipment are available and on-site when needed. Adjust schedules and resources as needed to accommodate project changes, delays, or unforeseen issues.

Quality Control & Safety Compliance:



Ensure that all fire doors and fire protection systems are installed to meet quality standards, industry codes, and client specifications. Conduct regular site inspections to verify that all work complies with safety standards and regulatory requirements. Ensure that all safety protocols are followed during installation and that employees and subcontractors adhere to best practices for safety on the job site.

Risk Management:



Identify potential risks and challenges, taking proactive measures to mitigate delays or issues. Address any conflicts or concerns from clients, subcontractors, or team members promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to the project timeline.

Reporting & Documentation:



Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including contracts, change orders, schedules, progress reports, and safety inspections. Provide regular project updates to clients and management, including budget status, timeline progress, and key challenges. Document and resolve any changes to the project scope, ensuring proper approval and communication to stakeholders.

Post-Project Handover & Maintenance:



Conduct final walkthroughs with clients to ensure the fire doors and fire protection systems meet all contractual specifications and are fully operational. Oversee post-installation support, ensuring that clients are satisfied and any issues are addressed promptly.

Requirements



You'll be a well presented, approachable and professional, self-starter. Excellent organisation and time management is essential for this role with the ability to work under pressure. Your attention to detail will be thorough and accurate. You must demonstrate effective management and prioritisation of your workload and work to strict deadlines.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate project teams, contractors, and vendors. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong problem-solving abilities to address project challenges, risks, and conflicts. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders effectively. High attention to detail, ensuring that all work complies with quality and regulatory standards. Ability to build and maintain positive client relationships and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.

The role is predominantly office-based Monday to Friday 08:00 - 17:00 in Peterborough but will involve travel to and from sites.



(Please note occasional weekends may be requested to support client events)

Salary starting from 35,000+



Salary will be discussed with each candidate and will be set dependant on experience and qualifications.
